This flavor starts with our signature Twilight Chocolate ice cream—a perfect blend of light and dark chocolate—swirled with rich, fudgy brownie bits in every bite.
This is one of my original flavors, one I’ve been refining since 2020. As a chocolate lover, I found that most store-bought chocolate ice creams just didn’t hit the mark. They often taste like they use the bare minimum amount of chocolate—just enough to call it chocolate, but not enough to make it truly great.
At home, I usually kept natural cocoa powder on hand, but when I started baking cakes, I also discovered black cocoa powder—the same kind used in Oreos. While both are cocoa powders, their flavors are dramatically different. Natural cocoa has a lighter, fruitier chocolate flavor, while black (or onyx) cocoa is deeply alkalized, resulting in a rich, roasted, almost dark chocolate-like intensity.
I wanted a chocolate ice cream that was bold and deeply satisfying—far beyond what’s available in stores. By blending both cocoa powders, I found the perfect balance. The natural cocoa brings sweetness and depth, while the black cocoa intensifies the chocolatey richness, creating a flavor that’s both complex and indulgent.
I named it Twilight Chocolate because it’s not light, it’s not dark—it’s the perfect in-between. And with brownie pieces mixed throughout, it’s a chocolate lover’s dream.
